ITINERARY

Day 1 : ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO
Upon arrival at Antananarivo international airport, you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy dinner and overnight, marking the beginning of your adventure in the capital city.

Day 2 : ROAD TRIP TO ANKARAFANTSIKA
Breakfast at the hotel before an early road trip heading Northwest via the RN4. Along the road, enjoy the vastness of the landscapes, including the renowned Betsiboka river, characterized by its striking red hue from the laterite it carries. Also observe gold diggers in the vicinity of Maevatanana. Lunch on the way, followed by our onward journey to Ankarafantsika National Park. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 : ANKARAFANTSIKA NATIONAL PARK - ANTSOHIHY
Morning visit to Ankarafantsika National Park, renowned for its diverse bird species, as well as its unique chameleons and tortoises endemic to Madagascar. As we explore the park, keep an eye out for lemurs such as the sifaka and nocturnal species, along with precious woods like rosewood and sacred wood. Lunch on the road, followed by a lengthy journey with several stops for stretching along the way. One notable landmark is the Sofia River bridge, the largest and longest in Madagascar, 30 km from Port Bergé, known for its chrome mines. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 : MAHAMASINA VILLAGE
After breakfast at the hotel, head towards the village of Mahamasina, located at the entrance to Ankarana National Park. Our journey takes us along the RN6, which stretches to the Northern tip of the Big Island. While parts of the road may be challenging, the scenic views along the way are truly breathtaking. By late afternoon, we arrive at our hotel and settle in for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 : HIKING ANKARANA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast at the hotel, hiking of the towering limestone peaks of the renowned Tsingy formation, which looms over the magnificent park. Explore the caves adorned with crystalline concretions before enjoying a picnic lunch on site. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. The exploration of Ankarana National Park demands physical stamina, making the evening return to the lodging all the more rewarding. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : RAMENA FISHING VILLAGE
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, set off for Ramena, home to the second largest bay in the world and a charming fishing village just 20km from Diego Suarez. Travel along the RN6 for approximately six hours, passing through Nosy Lonjo, known as « Sugar Loaf », a symbolic landmark of Diego Suarez. Your guide will tell you all about this famous formation as soon as it comes into view. Conclude the day with dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 : EMERALD SEA
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a leisurely day ahead. Enjoy a canoe excursion on the Emerald Sea, a vast lagoon boasting mesmerizing hues of turquoise blue and emerald green, along with heavenly beaches. You could do kite surfing ! Unwind on the beach before returning to Ramena for another night. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 : RED TSINGY PRIVATE PARK - DIEGO SUAREZ
Breakfast at the hotel before an exciting adventure to the Tsingy Rouge (Red Tsingy) private park. These unique tsingy formations, including the striking red tsingy and the awe-inspiring Canyon, offer an otherworldly experience. Marvel at their fragile yet majestic ocher silhouettes as you explore the park. Continue to Anivorano, where the Sacred Lake, inhabited by crocodiles, awaits. Legend has it that the village transformed into this lake after a traveler's curse. In the evening return to Diego Suarez for an overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.

Day 9 : AMBER MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast at the hotel before heading to the enchanting Amber Mountain National Park. Walk through the lush primary forest and encounter a variety of natural wonders including majestic waterfalls, serene lakes, towering tree ferns, vibrant orchids, and the fascinating wildlife of Madagascar. Keep an eye out for lemurs and chameleons as you explore the diverse ecosystem of the park. With seven lemur species, including both diurnal and nocturnal varieties, and an array of bird species, there's plenty to discover along the way. Then you can visit the charming town of Joffreville before returning to Diego Suarez in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 : AMBANJA THE CAPITAL OF COCOA
After breakfast at the hotel, take a short tour of the charming town of Diego Suarez, known for its unique charm and atmosphere, before reaching Ambanja, about 230 km from there. Ambanja is the renowned cocoa capital of Madagascar. Travel approximately 6 hours on RN6 to reach this city, where some of the finest cocoa in Madagascar is produced, earning the island international acclaim. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel upon arrival.

Day 11 : ANKIFY - NOSY BE
Breakfast at the hotel before a short journey to the Ankify pier for the 45-minute crossing to Nosy Be. Beyond its captivating beaches, Ankify is primarily known as the departure point for trips to Nosy Be. Upon arrival, free afternoon to unwind at the hotel or take a walk.

Days 12-13-14 : NOSY BE PARADISE ISLAND
Breakfast at the hotel before immersing yourself in the idyllic ambiance of Nosy Be. These days of leisure on the island unveil its unparalleled beauty, earning it the title of "Perfume Island" with its lush vegetation including traveler's trees, ravinala, mango trees, pepper trees, and coffee trees, all intermingling amidst the enchanting aroma of ylang-ylang. From the vantage point of Mont Passot, take in the breathtaking sight of crater lakes and surrounding islets illuminated by the sunset. Explore the nearby islands of Nosy Komba, Nosy Tanikely, and Nosy Iranja, each offering unique experiences. Venture into the Lokobe Reserve to discover its endemic flora and fauna, or visit Lemuria Land to delve deeper into the local culture and traditions, including sacred trees, bustling ports, and vibrant markets. Alternatively, indulge in the sheer bliss of Nosy Be's pristine beaches, allowing yourself to unwind and relax. Conclude the day with dinner and another restful night at the hotel.

Day 15 : FLIGHT BACK TO ANTANANARIVO
Breakfast at the hotel before transfer to Nosy Be airport for your domestic flight to Antananarivo, the bustling capital of Madagascar and a key hub for international flights. Upon arrival at Ivato airport, our guide driver will greet you and escort you to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, enjoy a delicious dinner and unwind for the night at the hotel.

Day 16 : LAST DAY IN THE CAPITAL CITY
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before bidding farewell to Madagascar. Your driver will assist you with your transfer to the airport, ensuring that you arrive in time for your flight back home. Along the way, make a stop at the craft market, where you can browse and purchase unique souvenirs to cherish memories of your journey through the Big Island. This marks the end of your unforgettable adventure.
