ITINERARY

Day 1 : ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO
Upon arrival at Antananarivo international airport, you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy dinner and overnight, marking the beginning of your adventure in the capital city.

Day 2 : DISCOVER MANTASOA
Breakfast at the hotel, then journey to Mantasoa, located 70 km northeast of Antananarivo. The city derives its name, meaning "pleasant even when flooded" from its main features: the artificial lake of Mantasoa and the industrial city established by Jean Laborde. One of the highlights of the visit is exploring the village, where you'll encounter Laborde's villa, now transformed into a museum. Nearby lies Laborde's tomb, the most significant monument in the local cemetery. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 3 : ROAD TRIP TO ANDASIBE
Breakfast at the hotel before a road trip to Andasibe. The journey offers stunning landscapes, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon reaching Andasibe, we transfer to the hotel. If conditions permit, we may embark on a night visit to the Andasibe National Park to explore its nocturnal wonders. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 4 : ANDASIBE MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK
Early morning breakfast before exploring the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Equipped with walking shoes, engage in a guided walking tour through the forest, encountering the iconic Indri Lemurs and immersing ourselves in the rich flora and fauna of the park. A highlight of Andasibe is the morning song of the Indri Indri, the largest lemur species, which provides a serene awakening and piques our curiosity. With eleven lemur species and a variety of birds like parrots and falcons, the park offers a diverse wildlife experience. The lush flora, adorned with majestic orchids, adds to the park's allure. After this captivating visit, we return to the hotel for a satisfying dinner and a peaceful night's rest.

Day 5 : ROAD TRIP AMBATONDRAZAKA - ZAHAMENA
Breakfast at the hotel, then embark on a journey towards Ambatondrazaka, covering a distance of 187 km, where we are greeted by breathtaking landscapes along the way. Located in the Lake Alaotra region in the Northeast of the island, this town is characterized by small hills enveloping a vast rice-growing plain. Amidst our journey, we pause for a lunch break. Although we won't be staying in Ambatondrazaka, we make a stop for shopping essentials for our upcoming three-day trekking and camping adventure in Zahamena. We then head to the hotel for a restful night's stay and a satisfying dinner.

Days 6-7-8 : CAMPING & TREKKING - ZAHAMENA
Zahamena National Park offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the untouched wilderness of Madagascar. Here, amidst breathtaking landscapes, you'll encounter a diverse array of wildlife and vegetation, gaining insight into the intricate ecosystem of the park. Zahamena is renowned for its unique inhabitants, particularly lemurs, found nowhere else on Earth. Embark on a three-day trekking adventure to delve deeper into this pristine environment. Each day brings new discoveries and experiences, from trekking through lush forests to visiting majestic waterfalls. Spend the night under the starry sky, with campsite dinners adding to the immersive wilderness experience. Trekking in Zahamena promises an unforgettable journey filled with adventure and natural wonders.

Day 9 : ANDILAMENA
After breakfast, prepare for another day of exploration as we set off on the national road 44 towards the national road 3A, heading for Andilamena. Along the way, marvel at the picturesque landscapes and expansive rice fields that adorn the countryside. Take a break for lunch amidst the scenic surroundings. Upon reaching Andilamena, settle in at the hotel for the night and enjoy a hearty dinner.

Day 10 : MARONTANDRANO NATIONAL PARK
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Marotandrano National Park. This special reserve boasts dense evergreen forests that serve as the habitat for the Babakoto and Varecia Variegata variageta lemurs. Keep an eye out for the remarkable presence of Dalbergia monticola, Syzygium emirnensis, Canarium madagascariensis, and Rheedia aphanophladia. If conditions permit, we'll enjoy a night exploration of the park. After our adventure, we'll return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 11 : EXPLORE WILDLIFE - MARONTANDRANO NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast at the hotel, we'll set out to explore further the Marotandrano Special Reserve, a protected natural area located in the North of Madagascar, bordering the regions of Sofia and Alaotra Mangoro. This reserve is renowned for its rich biodiversity, boasting twelve species of lemurs, including several endemic varieties, along with a diverse array of birdlife, with 104 species recorded, 56 of which are endemic to Madagascar. Additionally, the reserve is home to 19 species of amphibians, 16 species of reptiles, and 11 species of insectivores and rodents, with 10 of these being endemic to the area. After our exploration, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 : HIKING MAROTANDRANO - MANDRITSARA
After an early breakfast, we kickstart our day with a hike. Following breakfast (if needed) at the hotel, we head towards Mandritsara, covering a distance of 42km. Upon arrival, we transfer to the hotel for lunch, and you'll have some free time to explore the city either as a tourist or immerse yourself in the local culture. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 : ROAD TRIP - ANTSOHIHY
Breakfast at the hotel, then we set out on a lengthy journey toward Antsohihy. Along the way, we'll pause for lunch, and it'll be a substantial our road trip, requiring several stops to rest and stretch our legs. Notably, we'll encounter the largest and longest bridge in Madagascar, spanning the Sofia River 30 km from Port Bergé. Upon arrival in Antsohihy, we'll explore the city renowned for its chrome mines before retiring for dinner and spending the night at the hotel.

Day 14 : MAHAMASINA VILLAGE
After breakfast at the hotel, we head towards the village of Mahamasina, situated at the entrance to the Ankarana National Park. Our journey takes us along the RN6, the road leading to the Northern tip of the Big Island. While some parts of the track may be challenging, the road promises stunning scenery. We arrive at our destination by late afternoon and settle into our hotel, for dinner and overnight.

Day 15 : HIKING THE TSINGY - ANKARANA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a challenging hike to explore the renowned Tsingy, characterized by its towering limestone peaks, and delve into the caves adorned with crystalline concretions. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst this stunning landscape before returning to the hotel later in the afternoon. The exploration of Ankarana National Park demands physical stamina, making the return to the hotel in the evening a welcome respite. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 16 : ANKARANA NATIONAL PARK - RAMENA VILLAGE
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, set your course for Ramena, a charming fishing village nestled along the shores of the second largest bay in the world. The journey unfolds along the national road 6 (RN6), offering a scenic 6-hour drive with highlights including Nosy Lonjo, famously known as "le pain de sucre" or Sugar Loaf, a symbolic landmark of Diego Suarez. Your knowledgeable guide will regale you with tales of this iconic site as it comes into view. Conclude the day with dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 17 : CANOE TRIP ON THE EMERALD SEA
Breakfast at the hotel, then head out for a relaxing canoe trip on the Emerald Sea, known for its stunning turquoise and emerald waters and beautiful beaches. Enjoy leisurely activities such as kite surfing before returning to Ramena in the evening for dinner and another night at the hotel.

Day 18 : RED TSINGY (TSINGY ROUGE) PRIVATE PARK
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we offer you a unique opportunity to explore a different type of tsingy at the Tsingy Rouge private park. As you journey to the park, you'll get a taste of the adventure ahead. Marvel at the striking Red tsingy formations, as well as the Canyon, which stand majestically before you, creating an otherworldly landscape. Afterward, visit Anivorano, where the main attraction is the Sacred Lake inhabited by crocodiles. Legend has it that the village was cursed and transformed into a lake after refusing water to a traveler, with the inhabitants reincarnated as crocodiles. Finally, return to the city of Diego Suarez for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 19 : AMBER MOUNTAIN (MONTAGNE D’AMBRE) NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on an adventure to the Amber Mountain National Park. Explore the lush primary forest, where you'll encounter breathtaking waterfalls, serene lakes, towering tree ferns, colorful orchids, and a variety of lemurs and chameleons. Keep your eyes peeled for seven lemur species, including both diurnal and nocturnal varieties, along with over 75 bird species and fascinating reptiles like the Tuberculous Brookesia, the world's smallest chameleon. Afterward, take a guided tour of the charming town of Joffreville. As the day winds down, return to Diego Suarez for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 20 : FLIGHT BACK TO THE CAPITAL CITY
Indulge in breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to Diego Suarez airport for your flight to Antananarivo, the bustling capital of Madagascar and a hub for international flights. Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, our knowledgeable guide will welcome and escort you to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 21 : LAST DAY IN ANTANANARIVO
After breakfast, our dedicated driver will assist you with your airport transfer, ensuring you arrive in time for your departing flight back to your home country. Along the way, we'll make a stop at the craft market, where you can pick up some beautiful souvenirs to remember your adventure on the Big Island. End of our services.
